Job Requirements

Ability to read, write and speak English
minimum 3 months food service or cashier experience
capability to perform calculations and use cash register
effective customer service skills
knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
ability to operate café equipment safely

Job Qualifications

Ability to read, write and speak English well enough to follow verbal and written instructions
perform calculations and use an adding machine and POS system
accurately handle money
deal effectively with a wide variety of staff and customers
use direct reading devices where interpretation is not required
3 months' food service or cashier experience to gain cashier and money-handling skills
expertise with customer service, portion control, short order food preparation, sanitation, and safe operation of café equipment

Job Duties

Operate and maintain the coffee café of the hospital's dining hall during scheduled hours
determine and communicate order cost
operate the electronic cash register
check and count money to assure accuracy of register and receipts
prepare coffee beverages and related orders according to specific instructions
perform a variety of food service assignments including preparation and set-up of the café food and service area
maintain cleanliness of area and equipment
