The Exchange operates in numerous locations not only across the United States but also internationally, including Germany, Italy, England, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, and various other locations such as Iraq and Afghanistan, ensuring that military personnel and their families have access to quality goods and services wherever they are stationed.
The position available is that of a Food Service Worker - Starbucks at the Exchange, a unique role combining the essence of quality beverage preparation and exceptional customer service. This role is designed for individuals passionate about crafting hand-made beverages and creating an inviting community atmosphere, particularly within military base environments. This position is intermittent, with flexible hours ranging from 0 to 34 per week, including weekends and holidays. As a Food Service Worker - Starbucks at the Exchange, you will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic setting where your personality and genuine customer connections can truly flourish.
Your responsibilities will include greeting customers warmly with eye contact and a smile, acknowledging waiting customers promptly, and actively listening to customer needs to recommend appropriate products. The role emphasizes ensuring customers have an extraordinary experience while shopping, completing transactions accurately, and engaging in meaningful conversations to enhance the customer experience. Additionally, you will be expected to perform a variety of food preparation tasks such as serving a range of food items including salads, meats, vegetables, pizzas, sandwiches, desserts, and beverages, as well as operating ovens and deep-fat fryers for food preparation.
The role demands adaptability and initiative, including a willingness to cross-train and work in other areas of the store as needed, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills. Technological adaptability and the ability to think quickly on your feet to answer customer questions are pivotal to thriving in this position. Your ability to share brand knowledge and work cooperatively with team members while maintaining a welcoming and helpful attitude is equally important.
Working at the Exchange offers more than just a job; it’s an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that values professional growth and development. The Exchange focuses on providing associates with the tools, resources, and support necessary to succeed. The benefits package is comprehensive, including flexible scheduling, medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, shift and holiday premium pay, a traditional pension, and a 401K plan for qualifying associates. Additional perks include access to base facilities, a mass transit program, paid parental and military leave, personal accident insurance, and an employee assistance program.
