The Exchange is a prominent retail organization dedicated to serving the needs of military personnel and their families by providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service on military bases. As a part of the Department of the Army, The Exchange plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for service members and their communities by operating diverse retail facilities, including popular coffee outlets like Starbucks. We are currently seeking a skilled and personable Barista to join our Starbucks team at The Exchange. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting hand-made, quality beverages that delight our customers while contributing to a lively, fast-paced atmosphere where your personality can truly shine. You will be one of the key faces of our retail coffee shop, helping to build an inviting community hub on military bases. This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate a variety of lifestyles and comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, holiday and shift differential pay, a pension plan, and a 401K plan for qualifying associates. As a Barista at Starbucks within The Exchange, your primary focus will be customer connection and satisfaction. You will greet each customer warmly, making eye contact and offering a genuine smile to ensure everyone feels welcome and valued. You will engage actively with customers by listening attentively to their needs and asking relevant questions to tailor your beverage recommendations accordingly. By completing purchases accurately and efficiently while maintaining positive conversations, you help ensure every customer has an extraordinary shopping experience. Your ability to quickly respond to questions and think on your feet is essential in this role. The environment is dynamic and energetic, offering opportunities for you to learn and adapt to new technology and store operations. Job Duties
- Greet every customer with eye contact and smile in your authentic way
- acknowledge every waiting customer as soon as they arrive to the register to let them know you’ll be right with them
- listen to customer needs
- ask appropriate follow-up questions to ensure you offer appropriate products that meet the specific need of the customer
- ensure customers have an extraordinary experience while shopping
- complete transactions accurately and efficiently while engaging customers in appropriate conversation
