The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is a pivotal position within the food service team that combines hands-on food preparation, kitchen sanitation, and operational support to help deliver high-quality meals and exceptional service to customers. This role is essential for maintaining food safety standards, managing meal records, and assisting the manager with various administrative and kitchen tasks. As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for preparing meals and baked goods according to planned menus, ensuring the storage and handling of food items meet sanitary and safety standards, and assisting with the preparation of daily reports that verify cash transactions and meal counts. The position demands attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and a commitment to upholding Aramark’s quality and safety protocols.

The role involves physically engaging duties such as lifting, bending, and extended standing, along with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to uniform policies. You will work collaboratively with the manager and other kitchen staff to coordinate food service schedules, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and supervise food temperatures to guarantee customer satisfaction and compliance with health regulations. The Food Service Worker is also expected to perform routine and major cleaning of kitchen appliances and floors, ensuring all work and storage areas remain organized and sanitary. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • food service experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • food service certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
