Job Description

Memorial Healthcare System, located in Hollywood, Florida, is a leading healthcare provider committed to enhancing the health, well-being, and overall quality of life for the individuals it serves. With a focus on delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, Memorial Healthcare System has established itself as a trusted name in the community. The organization is grounded in a strong service vision called The Memorial Experience, which emphasizes excellence, accountability, and respect for patients and their families. This dedication to superior service sets Memorial Healthcare apart and creates a supportive environment not only for patients but also for its team members. The healthcare system employs a diverse workforce and values inclusivity, evident through its equal opportunity employment practices and a commitment to diversity in the workplace.

This role involves performing a variety of food service functions within the healthcare setting. As a food service team member, the employee will assist customers with food requests, prepare food items, replenish workstations, and complete assigned kitchen activities. The ability to transport food carts and trays as needed will be an essential part of daily operations. Adherence to stringent food safety, sanitation, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines is critical in ensuring the health and safety of patients, visitors, and staff. This position requires individuals who demonstrate accountability, accuracy in food inventory management, and customer service skills. Employees must be prepared to work in a potentially stressful environment with minimal supervision and must possess critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

The work environment includes various physical demands, such as bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, lifting or carrying items up to 75 pounds, pushing or pulling items in similar weight ranges, as well as standing, walking, and repetitive movements. The role involves exposure to a variety of biological and chemical hazards consistent with a healthcare setting, including biohazardous waste and communicable diseases, emphasizing the necessity for strict safety compliance and awareness. Working conditions may also involve extreme temperatures, fire risk, and frequent use of heating devices and mechanical parts. This position operates primarily during evening shifts. Memorial Healthcare System provides reasonable accommodations in the application process and maintains a veteran's preference program to support former military personnel and their families.

Applicants should note that the description provided is a general overview and is not exhaustive of all duties or working conditions. Wages should be discussed directly with a Memorial Healthcare System recruiter, as market averages shown on independent job boards may not accurately reflect the organization's specific offerings. Memorial Healthcare System is proud to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace where all qualified candidates have equal opportunity for employment, promotion, and career growth.
