The role being offered is for a Food Service Worker who plays a vital part in ensuring patients and guests receive high-quality meals in a safe and hospitable environment. This position is responsible for preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals while adhering to strict infection control, food safety, and service standards. Beyond patient meal delivery, the Food Service Worker supports various food service operations by replenishing supplies, serving guests, completing sanitation and dish room duties, and handling cashier transactions in cafeteria settings. Additionally, the role includes setting up and serving meals for corporate retail locations, catered events, and doctor dining areas. The position demands a multi-skilled individual capable of independently managing food service responsibilities and cross-training others. This role is essential to creating a positive dining experience, contributing to patient comfort and satisfaction.

The estimated salary range for this position is $16.00 to $19.49 per hour, dependent on experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Food safety certification required within 90 days of job entry
  • Two years of food and nutrition experience highly preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare, assemble, and deliver patient meals in accordance with quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards
  • Deliver stock supplies to patient floor kitchens
  • Serve guests maintaining positive customer and guest relations
  • Replenish used foods and supplies appropriately
  • Complete sanitation duties
  • Perform daily dish room duties as assigned
  • Collect payments for guest trays and handle food sales transactions in cafeteria
  • Set up and serve meals for corporate retail, catering, and Doctors Dining Room
  • Decorate buffet and reception tables as assigned
  • Cross-train in all food service responsibilities and support training of others
