The opportunity being offered here is for the position of a part-time Food Service Worker based at Texarkana PSD (1402 East 19th Street, Texarkana, AR 71854). The schedule for this part-time role is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, with further details available during the interview process. The position offers a fixed pay rate of $12.00 per hour and an internal employee referral bonus is available. Food service experience is preferred but not mandatory, making this a great opportunity for those looking to enter or continue working in the foodservice industry with a reputable company.
In the role of Food Service Worker, the incumbent will play a vital part in ensuring the effective preparation and service of food within the school setting. Responsibilities include preparation tasks like washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, as well as weighing and measuring ingredients accurately. The Food Service Worker will also be responsible for moving food items safely around the kitchen environment and storing food in designated areas following strict safety protocols regarding wrapping, dating, and rotation. Maintaining cleanliness by cleaning work areas and equipment, distributing supplies and utensils, and using approved recipes and production standards to deliver quality food at the proper serving temperature and correct portion size are crucial aspects of the role. Customer service is an important element, requiring the worker to serve customers courteously and address any concerns promptly, escalating issues appropriately to supervisors. The position also demands compliance with company standards related to service, inventory, cash control, sanitation, and safety regulations. Additionally, the worker may be asked to undertake other duties as assigned, adding to a dynamic and comprehensive work experience in the foodservice sector within education.

Full-time associates receive additional benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, life and disability insurance, commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, and flexible spending accounts. Chartwells K12 also ensures compliance with local laws regarding paid and unpaid time off, fostering a supportive and fair employment environment.
Compass Group, the parent company, is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, emphasizing fair treatment of all applicants and employees regardless of race, national origin, sex, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other legally protected classifications. The company strives to accommodate individuals with disabilities and maintains a drug-free workplace. While this job description provides a comprehensive overview of the essential functions of the Food Service Worker role, it may be subject to changes based on business needs.
