Job Description
Telecare Corporation is a prominent behavioral health organization dedicated to delivering excellent and effective mental health services. Their mission is centered on engaging individuals with complex needs to help them recover their health, hopes, and dreams. Telecare places a strong emphasis on advancing cultural diversity, humility, equity, and inclusion throughout every level of their organization. They actively promote hiring practices that include mental health peers, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), LGBTQIA+, veterans, and individuals from various belief systems, reflecting their commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment.
Gladman Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC), a subsidiary facility under Telecare, is licensed as a 40-bed facility that provides sub-acute psychiatric treatment to adults aged 18 and older. This center specifically focuses on supporting adults dealing with serious mental illnesses, offering tailored treatment and rehabilitation services to promote recovery and well-being.
The Food Service Worker position at Gladman MHRC is a vital role responsible for various food preparation, serving, and sanitation tasks within the facility. This role supports the overall well-being of clients and enhances their care experience. Employment is on an on-call basis with varying short-hour shifts as needed, offering flexibility in work hours and schedule. Compensation starts at $21.7875 per hour.
As a Food Service Worker, the successful candidate will assist in the preparation, assembly, and servicing of meals, ensuring compliance with all dietary and safety standards. Duties include operating dishwashing machinery, hand-washing equipment, assembling prepared food, delivering meals to designated client areas, assisting in food preparation like salads and desserts, maintaining cleanliness in dietary and dining areas, and stocking necessary supplies. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow daily routines efficiently, and upholding the highest sanitation regulations.
Working as part of the Telecare team, the Food Service Worker must demonstrate Telecare's core mission, values, and beliefs while interacting professionally with clients, coworkers, and members of the community. The role also involves participation in safety training such as Professional Assault Response Training (PART) to effectively manage any aggressive behavior and support client safety.
This position demands physical capabilities to perform various activities such as walking, standing, bending, squatting, and lifting supplies weighing between 0 to 50 pounds occasionally. The work environment requires adherence to universal safety precautions and consistent application of the organization's quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
Candidates should be prepared to work courteously and cooperatively within a team setting and contribute to a positive work atmosphere. The position also expects punctuality, reliability, professional appearance, and a willingness to engage in ongoing professional development through assigned in-service education classes. Fingerprint clearance from the Criminal Justice Department is mandatory due to the vulnerable population served.
In summary, the Food Service Worker position at Telecare's Gladman MHRC is an essential contributor to the health and comfort of adults undergoing mental health rehabilitation. The role offers meaningful work in a supportive, diverse environment with flexible hours and competitive pay, making it a fulfilling opportunity for individuals committed to making a positive impact in behavioral healthcare food service operations.
