This specific vacancy is for the position of Food Service Worker NA-02, stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. The role falls under the Starbucks Barista classification and involves delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. As a Food Service Worker, the selected candidate will be responsible for setting up counters and side service stands with a variety of hot and cold food and beverage options, including desserts and condiments. The role requires proficiency in assisting customers, particularly in the preparation and sale of specialty coffee beverages, as well as whole bean coffee sales. The worker will produce quality beverages, including espresso drinks and other Starbucks specialties, ensuring all products meet established recipe and presentation standards.
Beyond beverage preparation, the position involves using suggestive selling techniques to maximize product sales and serving food, pastries, and beverages in standard portions adhering to precise measurements. The role also requires maintaining cleanliness and operational readiness of the customer service area and equipment, performing routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on appliances, and following standardized procedures for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing products. Operating the cash register and managing one's change fund responsibly are also key components of this job.
Moreover, the Food Service Worker must comply with food safety, sanitation standards, and workplace safety regulations. The position demands physical stamina, including frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying objects, sometimes weighing up to 45 lbs independently. Employees are expected to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, provide world-class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy, and communicate effectively to address customer needs and resolve issues promptly. This role demands adherence to established policies regarding equal employment opportunity and prevention of sexual harassment, contributing to an inclusive and respectful work environment.
