Job Description
The Nutrition Group (TNG) is a reputable food service management company with a long-standing history since its founding in 1975. Over the years, TNG has expanded its operations to seven states, serving an array of clients by providing delicious and healthy meal options throughout the year. The company is dedicated to fostering strong, lasting relationships with its clients, customers, and team members by upholding high standards of service and commitment. TNG stands out in the industry as a dependable leader, continuously striving to cultivate an environment where each team member feels valued and empowered. TNG is known for its focus on quality meal preparation, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence in the food service management sector, particularly in school food service programs and various institutional catering settings.
The current opening is for a position within a local school kitchen or cafeteria environment. This role is designed to support the food service operations that are critical to delivering nutritious and enjoyable meals to students. The position operates Monday through Friday during daylight hours, ensuring no evening, weekend, or holiday work commitments, which offers an excellent work-life balance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the community by preparing meals that meet USDA and state guidelines and uphold health and safety standards. Responsibilities include cooking, food preparation, portioning, serving, maintaining sanitation and complying with HACCP and health department regulations, as well as assisting with cost monitoring and inventory controls. This role is pivotal in guaranteeing that food services operate smoothly and efficiently while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Ideal candidates will bring a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to grow within the role. Food service experience is preferred but not mandatory, as on-the-job training and development opportunities are provided. Candidates must be able to pass criminal background checks and obtain necessary clearances to work in a school environment, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students. The job also entails physical requirements such as standing for extended periods, walking, lifting weights up to 40 pounds or more, and performing physical tasks such as pushing and pulling. Computer literacy and strong interpersonal skills are valuable assets for candidates, facilitating communication and efficient record-keeping.
TNG provides comprehensive benefits including paid time off and a 401(k) plan, emphasizing their commitment to employee welfare alongside competitive pay and a supportive workplace. The company actively promotes diversity and inclusivity, considering all qualified applicants equally regardless of race, religion, gender identity, or veteran status. TNG encourages individuals who are passionate about food service and making a difference in a community setting to apply for this rewarding opportunity. Join TNG to be part of an organization that values teamwork, development, and delivering outstanding food service experiences in a positive and supportive environment.
