The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is central to maintaining high-quality food production and excellent customer satisfaction. This position involves assisting the manager in food and meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and helping with the completion of daily reports. The Food Service Worker ensures that all food preparation and kitchen practices comply with sanitation and safety standards, guaranteeing a clean and safe environment for both staff and customers. Responsibilities also include preparing various food items and baked goods according to planned menus, ensuring proper storage and handling of food, and serving meals following departmental schedules and policies.

In this role, attention to detail is critical, especially regarding food temperatures, sanitation, and the use and care of kitchen equipment including knives. The worker also takes part in major cleaning tasks such as thoroughly cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment, and maintaining a neat and sanitary kitchen environment. The job may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Employees may be required to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment to uphold safety standards.

  • food service experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • wear uniforms and/or usage of personal protective equipment (PPE)
