Operating under strict guidelines and regulations related to food safety and patient health, the facility is known for providing compassionate and diligent care alongside its core medical services. The environment is dynamic and requires staff members to be detail-oriented, reliable, and customer service-focused to meet the specialized needs of patients and their families.
The role of Patient Services Associate is essential within the food service operation of the healthcare facility. Under the direct supervision of the Patient Services Manager, the individual will perform various patient-related food services including tray assembly and delivery, food production support, stocking of nourishment rooms, dish room operations, sanitation duties, and maintenance of kitchen and equipment hygiene. The position demands adherence to infection control procedures, proper personal protective equipment use, and safe food handling practices. Employees will engage in both preparation and distribution tasks, ensuring that meals and nourishments comply with hospital policies and dietary requirements. This role requires excellent communication skills to interact courteously with patients, their families, and hospital staff while maintaining a respectful and caring approach.
Responsibilities also cover tasks such as managing tray lines, monitoring refrigerator and freezer temperatures, organizing food stocks with FIFO (first in, first out) rotation to reduce waste, and recording data accurately for cost analyses. Additionally, the associate will be responsible for trash disposal, cleaning dishes and pots, and maintaining clean and sanitary work areas. Familiarity with chemical sanitizers and their proper use, as well as compliance with safety standards like wearing gloves, goggles, aprons, and slip-resistant shoes, is necessary to maintain a safe work environment for themselves and others.

The patient services associate ensures that each patient's nutrition needs are met promptly and safely, aligning with modified diets and hospital policies.
