Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or general education diploma (ged)
  • basic food production and food service knowledge
  • ability to use various food service supplies and equipment
  • knowledge of safe food environment maintenance including cleaning procedures
  • proficiency in reading, writing and speaking english
  • mathematical ability for measurement and recipe adjustments
  • strong customer service skills
  • ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
  • understanding of patient privacy requirements

Job Duties

  • perform general kitchen duties including food preparation and storage
  • clean and store dishes, utensils, and pots
  • perform general department sanitation
  • follow department policies and recipes to prepare and serve meals and snacks accurately
  • assist in areas such as tray line, cafeteria, dish room, host/hostess or catering
  • communicate effectively with peers and supervisors
  • adhere to privacy and safety regulations protecting patient information
