We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Helper for a Per Diem, variable shift position at San Benito Health Care District. This role is essential in supporting the food service department by preparing cold foods, assembling patient trays, and ensuring timely delivery of nourishment to patients. The Kitchen Helper also plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area, dishwashing, warewashing, equipment cleaning, and general sanitation tasks according to state and county health regulations. The position demands a high level of attention to detail, adherence to established policies and procedures, and strict compliance with safety and sanitation standards. The Kitchen Helper must be physically capable of performing tasks such as lifting up to 35 pounds and possess good motor skills, including hand-eye coordination.

This role requires excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, to follow standardized recipes, accurately prepare food items, and maintain proper documentation. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to individuals possessing at least two years of food handling or customer service experience. A California Food Handlers Card or Manager's ServSafe Certificate is mandatory for this position.
