Unidine is currently hiring full-time Food Service Workers to join their dedicated team at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. This position operates on a full-time schedule with shifts from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, including rotating weekends where days may vary. Individuals selected for this role will receive a fixed pay rate of $16.00 per hour. The Food Service Worker position at Unidine is ideal for applicants who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the overall well-being of healthcare patients and staff through quality meal preparation and service.
The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving food that meets health and safety standards. This involves various tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables; weighing and measuring ingredients; handling food in accordance with safety protocols; storing and rotating food properly; and maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment. Additionally, workers will distribute supplies and utensils, utilize approved recipes to ensure food quality, and serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner while resolving any concerns that arise.
This role emphasizes adherence to company service standards, inventory and cash control procedures, and strict compliance with sanitation and safety regulations. Job Requirements
- Previous cash handling experience preferred
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Ability to work full-time schedule including rotating weekends
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to perform essential job functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to comply with sanitation and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
- Strong communication skills
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and adhere to safety standards
- Flexible availability to work varied shifts including weekends
Job Duties
- Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients
- Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
- Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures
- Clean work areas, equipment and utensils
- Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment
- Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
- Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service
- Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to supervisor
- Ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures
- Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
