Job Description

Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) is one of the nation’s largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services, with a rich legacy of achievement and industry leadership. Operating a vast network that includes acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities, outpatient centers, ambulatory care access points, insurance offerings, physician networks, and related services, UHS serves diverse communities across the United States, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom. The company has received significant recognition, including being named one of the World’s Most Admired Companies by Fortune and securing a place in Forbes’ ranking of America’s Largest Public Companies. With a dedicated medical staff and extensive healthcare infrastructure, UHS is committed to delivering high-quality care through its comprehensive healthcare resources and innovative solutions.

The Food Service Worker role at Corona Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Corona, CA offers a full-time position within a 238-bed community hospital network, consisting of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. Reporting directly to the Director of Nutritional Services, this role is pivotal in supporting the hospital’s mission of patient care excellence. The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing hot food items for a variety of service points including patient tray lines, the cafeteria, the doctor’s lounge, and catering events. The position requires adherence to a production schedule and regular compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.

This role not only involves food preparation but also encompasses supervisory duties. In the absence of the Director or Chef, the Food Service Worker assumes leadership responsibilities, overseeing kitchen staff to ensure all duties are executed efficiently and consistently. This role demands competency in culinary skills ranging from basic to advanced, with an emphasis on knowledge of modified and therapeutic diets, which are essential to catering to patients’ specific nutritional requirements.

As part of the Universal Health Services family, employees enjoy a broad array of benefits designed to promote career growth, financial security, and personal well-being. Competitive compensation ranges from $21.00 to $30.38 per hour. Benefits include tuition reimbursement, numerous career development opportunities across UHS’s extensive network of over 300 locations, and access to diverse programming to broaden professional experience. Employees can participate in HealthStream’s online learning catalog featuring free continuing education courses, receive generous paid time off, and access excellent medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug plans. Additional benefits include a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, a discounted stock purchase plan, pet insurance, and innovative financial programs such as the SoFi Student Loan Refinancing Program.

Universal Health Services embraces diversity and fosters an environment of mutual respect. The company is committed to equal employment opportunities for all applicants and team members regardless of race, color, religion, age, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), genetic information, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under federal, state, or local laws. This commitment reinforces UHS’s core value of inclusiveness and supports a work environment where all team members can thrive professionally and personally.
