The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is essential to maintaining the high standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction that the company is known for. This position involves assisting the manager with food and meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and completing daily reports. The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu while ensuring compliance with sanitation and kitchen safety practices. In this role, employees will handle various kitchen duties including the use and care of kitchen equipment—particularly knives—and the timely preparation of food items and beverages. Garnishing food to enhance customer satisfaction and eye appeal is also a key aspect of the job.

In addition to food production duties, the Food Service Worker will contribute to maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen environment by coordinating major cleaning tasks such as cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking, and serving equipment. Adherence to food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage is mandatory. Employees are expected to follow established cleanliness procedures including sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes, as well as maintaining the garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a sanitary manner. The role involves physical activity, requiring lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking for extended periods. Personal protective equipment and uniforms will be used as necessary to comply with safety standards.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
  • Use uniforms and personal protective equipment as required
