The Food Service Worker role at Aramark involves assisting the manager with food and meal preparation while maintaining cash receipts and meal records. This role is essential in ensuring that high standards of quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices are observed consistently. The Food Service Worker contributes significantly to the smooth operation of the kitchen by preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus and managing proper food storage practices. The position also includes the preparation of daily reports to verify transactions and adherence to meal schedules and departmental policies.
Key responsibilities include the use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives, and timely preparation of various food items and beverages. The Food Service Worker coordinates and assists with major cleaning tasks such as refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment to ensure compliance with food safety regulations. They maintain a clean and organized work environment, including counters, steam tables, kitchen floors, and garbage collection sites. This role requires maintaining a professional appearance by adhering to the company uniform policy and using personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
The role demands physical efforts such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Communication with the manager is vital to understand daily menu requirements and supervise food temperature standards strictly. Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of personal protective equipment (PPE).
