The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is integral to maintaining the high standards of food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety that Aramark is known for. This position involves assisting the manager with various tasks including food and meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, completing daily reports, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods according to the planned menu, understanding the components of each meal, and serving food according to established schedules and policies.

In addition to food preparation and service, this role includes coordinating and assisting with major cleaning activities of kitchen equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving tools. The worker also plays a vital role in ensuring proper storage of food items in a sanitary manner, supervising food temperature requirements, and maintaining a clean and organized working environment. The position requires adherence to uniform policies and usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary. Physical demands of the role may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
  • add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, moping, ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • accommodate physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • comply with uniform and personal protective equipment usage requirements
