The Food Service Worker role at Aramark plays a vital part in maintaining the quality and safety of food offerings within the kitchen environment. This position involves assisting the manager in food and meal preparation, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and sanitation standards, and maintaining accurate records of cash receipts and meals served. The role demands a strong attention to detail and adherence to food safety regulations to guarantee that all meals are prepared, stored, and served in a hygienic and timely manner. Responsibilities include preparing quality food and baked goods as per planned menus, serving food according to schedules, and assisting in the preparation of daily transaction reports.

Additionally, the Food Service Worker is responsible for proper use and care of kitchen equipment, including knives, and performing major cleaning duties for refrigerators, freezers, and cooking equipment. Maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to all sanitation guidelines are key aspects of this position. The role also requires coordination with the manager daily to ensure menu accuracy and supervision of food temperature requirements to maintain safety standards. Physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking are part of the job. The use of uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory to uphold safety and cleanliness.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Fulfill physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
