Job Qualifications
- Skill to perform tasks with several steps and use judgment in sequential tasks
- skill to serve uniform portions and manage multiple requests simultaneously
- skill to perform simple arithmetic
- ability to read and follow instructions
- working knowledge of common sanitation procedures to prevent contamination
- ability to perform work according to established safety guidelines
- ability to uphold impeccable hygiene standards
- ability to obtain Hawaii Food Handlers Certificate within first 14 days
- availability to work at least three shifts per work week
- responsibility to follow oral or written instructions and meet standards of sanitation, attractiveness, timeliness, safety, and service
- ability to handle light to moderate physical effort including lifting up to 45 pounds independently
- ability to work standing and walking for extended periods
Job Duties
- Set up food service counters and side service stands with hot and cold food and beverages including desserts and condiments
- assist customers in selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales
- provide quality beverages consistent with established recipe and presentation standards
- use suggestive selling techniques to promote products
- serve food and beverages in standard portions
- make coffee in large urns with responsibility for timing and brewing
- properly clean dishwashers and associated equipment
- maintain customer service area and equipment in clean and appealing manner
- perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to checklists and schedules
- follow store policies and procedures for operational flow
- operate cash register and manage own changes
- complete prescribed training
- provide world class customer service with emphasis on courtesy
- assist customers and communicate positively in friendly manner
- acknowledge customers with smiles and eye contact
- ask questions to determine and solve problems
- check customer satisfaction on goods and services
- take action to solve problems quickly
- alert supervisors or proper contacts when issues arise
- adhere to safety regulations and standards
- observe established sanitation guidelines
- use required safety equipment and follow safe work procedures
- promptly report workplace hazards, injuries, illnesses, or property damage
- support principles of EEO and prevention of sexual harassment
- perform other related duties as required
