The Food Service Worker role at Aramark offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where quality and safety are prioritized. This position is crucial in supporting the daily kitchen operations by assisting with meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash and meal records, and helping complete necessary reports. The Food Service Worker helps ensure that the food produced meets the company’s high standards for quality, nutrition, and presentation, while strictly adhering to sanitation and kitchen safety protocols.

This role requires the ability to prepare a variety of food items following planned menus, perform cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, and serve food in accordance with established meal schedules and organizational policies. The worker will also coordinate with the manager daily to understand and prepare menu items correctly, supervise food temperature requirements, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are important aspects of the position.

Physical demands include the ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods, as well as adherence to uniform and personal protective equipment policies.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food service preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • ability to follow sanitation and safety guidelines
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • physical ability to perform lifting and other manual tasks
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
  • capacity to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
  • add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, moping, ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including in other kitchen areas
  • comply with physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • use personal protective equipment as required
