Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work early morning and afternoon shifts
  • Ability to work in a correctional facility environment and interact with inmates
  • Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking and standing for extended periods
  • Must follow facility uniform policy
  • Dependability and flexibility in scheduling

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of food handling regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong multitasking and adaptability skills
  • Dependable and flexible work ethic
  • Passion for food and service

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and food service shifts
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of quality foods according to menu and instructions
  • Ensure proper and sanitary food storage
  • Serve food according to planned meal schedules and policy
  • Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare and serve food
  • Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling and storage
  • Train other food service workers
  • Maintain clean work environment including refrigerators, cooking and serving equipment
  • Enforce facility uniform policy
  • Manage garbage collection and kitchen cleanliness
  • Promote a healthy and safe work environment
  • Perform physical duties including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
