Job Requirements

Must be 18 years of age
Must be able to stand on feet for 4 hours
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Must be able to work weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

Coursework training or experience in food preparation baking and kitchen operations in the food service industry or related field
One year of coursework or training in food preparation preferred
Cooking and baking experience in a large-scale food service operation preferred
Knowledge of kitchen and dining room safety practices
Knowledge of food sanitation procedures
Knowledge of special diets and food preparation schedules
Knowledge of cooking techniques for meats vegetables soups salads and baked goods
Knowledge of kitchen equipment utensils and cleaning procedures
Knowledge of facility security and emergency procedures
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers
Ability to follow instructions and maintain records
Ability to safely operate sharp hot or heavy kitchen equipment
Ability to bend stoop lift and carry food items and supplies
Ability to work in high temperatures and humid environments
Ability to train or assist lower-level food service staff as needed
