The current opportunity is for an On Call Food Service Worker role based at Providence Health St Elias in Anchorage, Alaska. This on call position offers a fixed pay rate of $19.00 per hour and features a flexible schedule with varying days and hours, which will be detailed during the interview process. As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving food, ensuring that every meal is delivered with precision and care. Your duties will include prepping ingredients such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, measuring and weighing designated ingredients, and safely transporting food items between workstations. Proper storage of food in compliance with safety protocols and sanitation standards will be essential. The role also involves cleaning workstations and utensils, distributing supplies, and using approved recipes and portion control standards to guarantee quality and consistency.
Customer service is a key component of this job, as you will be expected to serve patrons in a courteous and efficient manner, address any concerns, and maintain compliance with company policies regarding inventory and cash control. Job Duties
- Prepare, present and serve food as needed
- perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables
- weigh and measure designated ingredients
- carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
- store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures
- clean work areas, equipment and utensils
- distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment
- utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
- serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service
- resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to supervisor
- ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures
- assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements
- perform other duties as assigned
