Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to supervise inmate labor and team members
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, bending, standing for long periods
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable and flexible
- Willingness to comply with facility uniform and safety policies
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food preparation and service shifts
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and team members in the preparation of quality foods according to planned menus and recipes
- Ensure all food is stored properly and in a sanitary manner
- Serve food during planned meal schedules and in accordance with department policies
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes
- Follow all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain a clean work area including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment
- Follow facility uniform policy
- Manage garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean
- Ensure kitchen is ready for food preparation and serving including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
- Review portions and utensils for service
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates
- Perform physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, standing for extended periods
- Perform other related duties as assigned
