This open position is for a versatile role within the food service department at MMC-Memorial Medical Center. The role primarily involves performing general kitchen duties that support the smooth operation of meal preparation and service within a healthcare environment. Responsibilities include preparing and storing food according to established recipes and department policies to ensure patients and visitors receive nutritious and safe meals in a timely manner. The incumbent will handle cleaning and storing dishes, utensils, pots, ensuring the kitchen and related work areas comply with department sanitation standards. The position supports various facets of the food service function, such as the tray line, cafeteria, dish room, host/hostess duties, and catering support to meet diverse operational demands.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • basic knowledge of food production and food service
  • ability to use food service equipment and supplies
  • understanding of safe food handling and cleaning
  • ability to read, write, and speak English
  • basic math skills for measurement and portioning
  • strong customer service skills
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • willingness to work varied shifts including weekends
  • ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information

Job Duties
