Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and diligent Cook to join our kitchen team. The role of the Cook is pivotal in ensuring that all food preparation and cooking activities are conducted in line with set recipes and food safety standards. This position involves preparatory tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, as well as accurately weighing and measuring ingredients. In addition to these responsibilities, the Cook will be accountable for transporting food safely around the kitchen, storing food appropriately, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment. The Cook must be able to operate cooking appliances and utensils safely, comply with sanitation and safety regulations, and provide exceptional customer service when required.

This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, busy kitchen environments and who take pride in their ability to contribute to the preparation of high-quality meals that meet safety and presentation standards. The successful candidate will be proactive, attentive to detail, and equipped to stand and work efficiently over long periods. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables
  • weigh and measure designated ingredients
  • carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
  • store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures
  • clean work areas, equipment and utensils
  • cook food items according to recipes and food production standards
  • ensure food is safely prepared and at the proper temperature for consumption
