The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is primarily responsible for assisting the manager with food and meal preparation while maintaining rigorous standards in quality, safety, and sanitation. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that meals are prepared accurately and served on schedule, meeting department policies and customer satisfaction standards. The Food Service Worker also contributes to the administrative tasks by maintaining cash receipts and meal records and assisting in the completion of daily reports. Maintaining food safety and storage protocols is essential to preserve the quality and safety of all food items prepared and served.
In this role, the candidate will prepare quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, manage storage in accordance with sanitary standards, and handle kitchen equipment responsibly. The job also entails supervising food temperature requirements to guarantee food safety, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the work and storage areas, and participating in the major cleaning of kitchen appliances and storage units. The Food Service Worker frequently interacts with the manager to align on daily menu requirements and standards.
Physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing are part of this role, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniforms are required to maintain workplace safety. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working quickly and efficiently under pressure, with sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow both verbal and written instructions.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in a food service or kitchen environment preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
- Willingness to comply with uniform and PPE policies
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain food safety protocols
- Availability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, or weekends
- Ability to lift moderate weights and perform physical tasks related to kitchen work
Job Qualifications
- Food Service Certificate as needed
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure
- Experience in food preparation preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills to connect with management and team members
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
- Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- Meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms as required
