Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Physical capability to lift, bend, push, kneel and walk during shift
- Willingness to adhere to facility policies and uniform standards
- Ability to work flexible schedules
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge of food handling and sanitation regulations
- Experience working in institutional or restaurant food service is preferred
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to train and instruct others

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and or team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and or team members in the preparation of quality foods according to planned menu, recipes, and work instructions in a timely manner
- Ensure that all food is stored properly and in a sanitary manner
- Serve food during planned meal schedules according to department policies and procedures
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare and serve food according to recipes and portion control
- Follow all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain a clean work area and environment including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment
- Follow facility uniform policy
- Keep up with garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean from excess food and trash
- Ensure kitchen is kept clean and environment is ready for food prep and serving including sweeping, mopping and dishwashing
- Review proper portions and utensils for service
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Stand and be on feet for much of the scheduled shift
- Perform other related duties as assigned
