The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is integral to the seamless daily operations within its food service environment. This role involves assisting the manager with food and meal preparation, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining precise records including cash receipts and meal logs. The Food Service Worker plays a critical part in upholding strict sanitation and safety standards within the kitchen. Responsibilities include the preparation of quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, careful storage and handling of food items to maintain freshness and safety, and the timely serving of meals aligned with department policies and schedules. Additionally, the role requires maintaining and cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. The Food Service Worker works closely with the manager to prepare daily reports and adhere to all food safety regulations, including proper food temperature supervision and uniform policies.

This position demands physical stamina as it may involve lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. The role may also require the use of uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure safety compliance. The Food Service Worker must demonstrate efficiency and accuracy under pressure, maintain a clean and organized work area, and contribute to major cleaning tasks such as scrubbing and polishing counters and sanitizing equipment. Job Duties

  • prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • comply with physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
