The Food Service Worker position at Aramark plays a vital role in delivering high-quality food service operations. This hourly role, compensated at $24.35 per hour, involves assisting the manager with meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and supporting the completion of daily reports. The Food Service Worker upholds stringent standards of quality in food production while maintaining exceptional sanitation and kitchen safety practices.

The role’s responsibilities include preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus and ensuring food storage is managed in an accurate and sanitary manner. The Food Service Worker serves food according to schedule and departmental policies while carefully operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, including knives. They coordinate and assist in cleaning major kitchen appliances and areas, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations for sanitation, handling, and storage. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in work and storage areas is paramount, as is adhering to uniform policies and connecting daily with the manager to prepare the menu accurately.

Physical demands of the job may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing, and wearing uniforms or personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service or kitchen environment preferred
  • knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • physical capability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing
  • willingness to wear uniform and comply with PPE usage
  • ability to follow established procedures and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
  • add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment including sweeping, moping, ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
  • wear uniforms and/or usage of personal protective equipment (PPE)
