The Food Service Worker position at McLaren Greater Lansing in Lansing, MI, offers both full-time and part-time opportunities for individuals passionate about making a difference in healthcare through exceptional food service. This role requires a commitment to supporting the nutritional and dietary needs of patients, visitors, and staff in a hospital setting. Working Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays, the schedule is designed to accommodate a balance between professional and personal life, with hours varying as needed to meet operational demands. The starting pay rate for this role is $16.00 per hour, reflecting competitive compensation for food service professionals in the healthcare industry.

The Food Service Worker will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks including preparation, presentation, and serving of food in accordance with strict health and safety standards. This includes washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables; weighing and measuring ingredients accurately; and ensuring proper storage of food using appropriate wrapping and rotation techniques to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage. The position also involves maintaining clean and sanitary work areas, equipment, and utensils to comply with all sanitation and safety regulations. Communication is key in this role as Food Service Workers serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, address and resolve customer concerns, and ensure adherence to company service standards including inventory and cash control procedures.
