Job Description
Aramark is a global leader in food service, facilities management, and uniform services, proudly serving millions of guests every day across 15 countries. With a strong commitment to service, Aramark focuses on creating positive impacts for employees, partners, and communities alike. The organization thrives on the principles of diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, ensuring that every employee can participate fully in the company without discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military status, or any other protected characteristic. Aramark emphasizes professional growth, a sense of belonging, and a supportive workplace culture that encourages employees to reach their full potential. At Aramark, employees are equipped to develop new skills, embrace challenges, and contribute meaningfully to the mission of serving high-quality food and maintaining clean, safe facilities.
The Food Service Worker position at Aramark involves assisting the manager in various aspects of meal preparation, food handling, sanitation, and record-keeping. This role requires a meticulous attention to detail as the Food Service Worker helps prepare quality foods and baked goods according to planned menus while maintaining the highest standards of kitchen safety and sanitation. This includes preparing daily reports to verify transactions, ensuring that meals are inclusive of all required components, and storing food properly to prevent contamination or spoilage. The Food Service Worker serves food according to schedule and adheres to established departmental policies and procedures. Skilled use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives, is an essential element of the role, as is the ability to add garnishments that improve the presentation and customer satisfaction.
In addition to food preparation, the Food Service Worker coordinates and assists in major cleaning tasks such as refrigerator and freezer maintenance, cooking and serving equipment sanitation, and overall kitchen cleanliness. Adherence to food safety regulations is mandatory, encompassing sanitation, handling, and proper storage. Uniform policies and daily communication with the manager are crucial to understand daily menu requirements and maintain compliance. The worker supervises food temperature requirements, ensures a clean and organized work area, and carries out cleaning duties including scrubbing counters, sanitizing steam tables, sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing. Maintaining garbage collection sites and kitchen floor areas in a neat, sanitary condition also falls under this role’s responsibilities.
This position demands some physical activity such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniform adherence are required to maintain safety and cleanliness standards. Aramark promotes flexibility and adaptability, acknowledging that job duties may evolve or expand without formal notice in order to meet business needs and commitments. This dynamic working environment offers an opportunity for candidates seeking to grow their skills in food service operations, kitchen management, and customer satisfaction within a global company that values its workforce and community impact. The Food Service Worker role is essential to delivering excellent service and maintaining operational standards that enhance the overall guest experience.
