Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- subject to background/suitability investigation
- may serve a probationary period
- selective service registration for males born after 12/31/1959
- complete application package including resume and transcripts
- required to complete online onboarding process
- pass pre-employment physical examination
- physical ability to perform continuous standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds
- willingness to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Evidence of training or experience demonstrating ability to perform the duties of food service
- ability to work with minimal supervision
- knowledge of sanitation principles related to food service
- skill in preparing cold food items and beverages
- ability to organize work tasks logically
- capability to read and interpret menus and diet cards
- experience in assisting with food preparation and assembly
Job Duties
- Sets up dining room tables for service
- place food and beverages on tables
- replenishes items as necessary
- identifies obvious discrepancies between the prescribed diets and the food items designated by the menu
- uses general sanitation principles to safeguard food against spoilage and waste
- prevents contamination by cleaning equipment previously used for raw food
- prepares boxed/to go meals
- organizes work in a logical sequence
- provides assistance to cooks in the food preparation area, such as weigh, measure and assemble ingredients according to standardized recipes
- prepares fresh fruit/cold salads/dressings/sandwich fillings and cold sandwiches and simple cold desserts in specified quantities
- prepares beverages according to the number of servings required
- read and interpret a regular or modified menu, individual diet cards, tray tickets or patient selections
