Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • subject to background/suitability investigation
  • may serve a probationary period
  • selective service registration for males born after 12/31/1959
  • complete application package including resume and transcripts
  • required to complete online onboarding process
  • pass pre-employment physical examination
  • physical ability to perform continuous standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds
  • willingness to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Evidence of training or experience demonstrating ability to perform the duties of food service
  • ability to work with minimal supervision
  • knowledge of sanitation principles related to food service
  • skill in preparing cold food items and beverages
  • ability to organize work tasks logically
  • capability to read and interpret menus and diet cards
  • experience in assisting with food preparation and assembly

Job Duties

  • Sets up dining room tables for service
  • place food and beverages on tables
  • replenishes items as necessary
  • identifies obvious discrepancies between the prescribed diets and the food items designated by the menu
  • uses general sanitation principles to safeguard food against spoilage and waste
  • prevents contamination by cleaning equipment previously used for raw food
  • prepares boxed/to go meals
  • organizes work in a logical sequence
  • provides assistance to cooks in the food preparation area, such as weigh, measure and assemble ingredients according to standardized recipes
  • prepares fresh fruit/cold salads/dressings/sandwich fillings and cold sandwiches and simple cold desserts in specified quantities
  • prepares beverages according to the number of servings required
  • read and interpret a regular or modified menu, individual diet cards, tray tickets or patient selections
