Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to follow prescribed food safety and sanitation procedures

  • Good physical condition and ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform cashiering duties if needed

Job Duties

  • Sets up food service, kitchen, salad, deli and buffet areas, equipment
  • Conveys food and supplies from main kitchen, bakery and/or salad/buffet for daily operation areas to the serving site either by carrying or utilizing cart
  • Follows prescribed procedures in setting up hot and cold food lines, ice cream, yogurt and ice machines
  • Assists in the preparation of hot and cold meat and vegetable dishes, beverages and salads, sandwiches, dressings or similar food items as appropriate to the position
  • Serves food items to customers from counters according to specifications and ensures that appropriate portions are served
  • Serves food trays to patients on various floors
  • Replenishes foods, condiments, silverware, glassware, dishes and trays at serving stations
  • Cleans, washes and maintains work areas, including floors, facilities, pots, pans, service ware, utensils and operation
  • May perform cashiering duties, as required
  • Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing the machine
  • Places, changes and transports the trash to dumpsters
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • Performs with manager for any other assignments on a daily basis
