The Food Service Worker position at ASPC - Lewis Complex is a vital role within Aramark's correctional facility food services operations. This is a supervisory role responsible for overseeing the preparation and delivery of meals to inmates, ensuring all food items are prepared according to approved production plans and safety standards. The worker monitors and trains inmates in proper food preparation methods, assuring compliance with Aramark's stringent sanitation and safety regulations. This role involves direct supervision and coordination of inmate workers to improve efficiency, maintain strict adherence to food safety and security protocols, and support the overall sanitary condition of the kitchen and dining areas. The Food Service Worker is expected to be proactive in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, participating actively in food production and meal service alongside the inmate workers. Duties include reviewing production logs, printing and distributing recipes, ensuring portion control and special dietary needs are met, and enforcing security policies within the kitchen. The role requires the ability to work independently with limited supervision, exercise sound judgment, and maintain a safe and secure food service environment within a correctional facility setting. This position demands physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing, and adherence to uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) regulations.
