Job Description

Harborview Medical Center is a renowned healthcare facility located in King County and operated by UW Medicine. As the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview provides specialized medical care to patients across the Pacific Northwest, including some of the most vulnerable populations. Job Requirements

  • Possession of or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment
  • One year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage or equivalent education/experience

Job Qualifications

  • One year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage or equivalent education/experience
  • Ability to follow medically prescribed diet orders
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work under general supervision in a medical setting

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent, respectful customer service to a diverse customer base in a medical setting
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages compliant with medically prescribed diet orders including fluid, texture, electrolyte and nutrient restrictions
  • Perform advanced food service duties in preparing and serving food for medically vulnerable populations and with attention to food allergens and cross-contamination
  • Perform clean-up and sanitization activities for food equipment
  • Retrieve and process food and preparation/serving equipment adhering to infection and cross-contamination prevention protocols
