Job Description
Episcopal SeniorLife Communities is a respected organization dedicated to providing high quality services that range from skilled nursing and restorative care to housing, assisted living, and community-based wellness programs. They actively prioritize meeting the individual needs of residents in a culturally competent and compassionate manner, all while supporting family members and loved ones throughout transitional periods. The mission revolves around fulfilling their commitment to improve quality of life, emphasizing dignity, respect, and holistic care. Episcopal SeniorLife Communities operates as a comprehensive senior living service provider, combining healthcare with vibrant community living to enhance and inspire the lives of older adults every day.
The role of Per Diem Food Service Waitstaff at Episcopal SeniorLife Communities is integral to maintaining the high standards of service and care offered throughout their dining and banquet operations. This position is part-time with weekend availability required, and pays $17.00 per hour. The Food Service Waitstaff is responsible for providing attentive and professional table service during dining room and catering events, ensuring all guests and residents receive their meals promptly and with warmth and friendliness. Their duties include understanding the menu thoroughly, executing accurate order taking, timely delivery of food to tables, and managing the cleanliness and resetting of tables after service. Moreover, the position requires adhering to proper sanitation guidelines at all times, promoting a professional atmosphere that reflects the values and dedication of Episcopal SeniorLife Communities. Waitstaff may also deliver meals to residents' rooms or patio homes and attend relevant resident association or food committee meetings to gather feedback, contributing to continuous service improvement.
The position requires strong interpersonal skills as it involves frequent interaction with residents, their families, fellow staff, vendors, and visitors. Due to the sensitive nature of working in a senior living environment, employees must handle residents’ property and belongings responsibly and maintain confidentiality at all times. Physical demands include sustained standing and walking with occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. The work environment mainly consists of indoor kitchen and dining areas that can be warm and may involve contact with hot cooking equipment. Overall, this role is crucial in enhancing residents’ dining experiences and supporting the community’s mission to provide compassionate, respectful, and individualized care to older adults.
