Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in nutrition or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years food service experience required
- 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred
- Ability to stand frequently
- Ability to walk frequently
- Ability to sit occasionally
- Ability to lift and carry 35lbs with assisted device occasionally
- Ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl occasionally
- Ability to balance frequently
- Ability to manipulate and feel frequently
- Vision, hearing, talking, feeling constantly
- Willingness to work onsite
- Availability for rotating shifts
- Must be able to comply with safety procedures
- Knowledge of organizational and operational procedures
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in nutrition or equivalent experience
- Food service experience of 5-7 years
- Supervisory experience of 2-3 years preferred
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns
- Ability to monitor and maintain quality control standards
- Ability to plan work schedules and assign duties
- Records maintenance skills
- Ability to supervise and train assigned staff
- Knowledge of organizational structure and workflow
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- Knowledge of maintenance and care of culinary facilities and equipment
Job Duties
- Develops and monitors budgets and sales goals related to food and labor costs
- Estimates daily and weekly production and inventory food requirements
- Coordinates inventory needs with menu forecasts
- Prepares work schedules and assigns personnel to meet production plans
- Inspects orders to ensure all foods meet prescribed standards for presentation, temperature, and portioning
- Instructs food service personnel in accepted standards
- Prepares and/or supervises preparation of cold dishes, appetizers, and fillings
- Maintains food production records, reports, and department files
- Orders food items directly from suppliers
- Evaluates suppliers to determine best and cost-effective sources
