Job Requirements
- Valid vehicle operator's license
- Ability to lift and carry heavy food items
- Ability to work extended hours standing in kitchen environments
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant cooking or food service experience

- Professional and respectful demeanor
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of experience as a Food Service Worker with Missouri UCPS or three or more years of commercial, industrial, or institutional cooking experience including supervisory experience
- Associate degree is preferred
- Ability to supervise, instruct and coordinate food preparation and menu planning
- Ability to enter and update data in automated systems and spreadsheets
- Knowledge of storekeeping or inventory procedures
Job Duties
- Prepare or supervise preparation of meals using commercial kitchen equipment
- Maintain food service records
- Complete requisitions for food and supply items
- Follow basic dietetic principles to coordinate and audit meals
- Lift or carry large portions of food or ingredients
- Work long hours standing in a kitchen that may have high temperatures
- Direct the operation of small to moderate facility kitchens or serve as shift supervisor in large facility kitchens
- Train and direct the daily work of food service staff and youth helpers
- Evaluate employees and helpers in food preparation and serving
- Monitor safety and sanitation standards in kitchens, dining rooms, and food storage areas
- Develop menus complying with nutrition rules
- Prepare work schedules reflecting shifts, days, and hours of work
