The available position is for a Full-Time Food Service Supervisor to work within a correctional facility, overseeing both inmate labor and team members who assist with food service operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring that food preparation and service meet stringent quality and safety standards while also fostering a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for managing food service activities according to established menus, recipes, and work instructions. This includes using various kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare and serve meals, supervising labor during food preparation and serving shifts, and maintaining storage and sanitation standards. The position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting while adapting to changing priorities as necessary. Employees in this role must be capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Trinity Services Group offers a starting wage of $20.00 per hour for this role. Additionally, employees who complete the Rookie’s Fast Track Program within their first 60 days may earn a $250 bonus. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Dependable and flexible
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food preparation and service shifts
  • Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and team members in quality food preparation according to menus and recipes
  • Ensure all food is stored properly and in a sanitary manner
  • Serve food during planned meal schedules following department policies and procedures
  • Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes
  • Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Train other food service workers
  • Maintain a clean work area by cleaning refrigerators, cooking equipment, and serving equipment
  • Follow facility uniform policy
  • Manage garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
  • Review proper portions and utensils for service
  • Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
