TSG is currently offering a part-time Food Service Supervisor position located within a correctional facility at the Onondaga County Justice Center. This specialized role requires the supervision of inmate labor and team members as they carry out food preparation and service duties in a secure environment. The Food Service Supervisor will play a critical part in ensuring the efficient and sanitary preparation and serving of meals, following strict food handling regulations and facility policies.
This role offers a competitive wage of $21.75 per hour and includes a $250 bonus for those who successfully complete the Rookie's Fast Track Program within the first 60 days of employment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to stand and be on feet for extended periods
- Ability to lift, bend, push, kneel, and walk as required for physical demands
- Prior experience in institutional food service preferred
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and or team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and or team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions in a timely manner
- Ensure that all food is stored properly and in sanitary manner
- Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department policies and procedures
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare and serve food according to recipes
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain a clean work area and environment including cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, cooking equipment, and serving equipment
