Job Description
Core-Mark is a leading distributor in North America, specializing in fresh and broadline solutions for the convenience retail industry. The company has established itself as the largest and most comprehensive marketer of consumer goods across the United States and Canada. Known for its commitment to empowering customers, employees, and communities, Core-Mark offers a wide array of products, programs, and innovative solutions tailored for convenience retailers. The company operates with a strong emphasis on inclusion, recognition, and respect, fostering a safe and rewarding workplace environment. Core-Mark is part of the Performance Food Group and upholds equal employment opportunity policies that embrace diversity across various demographics, including race, gender, veteran status, and more.
The Foodservice Sales Consultant Manager role at Core-Mark is designed for someone passionate about the foodservice segment within the convenience retail channel. This full-time position offers competitive compensation, combining a base salary with bonus incentives and includes benefits from day one such as health and wellness coverage, 401K employer matching, employee stock purchase plans, education assistance, paid time off, and more. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexibility to accommodate business needs, and based at the company’s Tampa, Florida location. The role involves substantial travel – approximately 60 to 70 percent – across Florida and parts of Georgia to support strategic business goals.
As a Foodservice Sales Consultant Manager, you will act as an ambassador for Core-Mark’s foodservice initiatives, working closely with local sales teams and customers to educate and support the expansion or enhancement of their foodservice offerings. This role is vital in promoting Core-Mark’s private brand products and foodservice promotions, requiring strong leadership competencies and excellent communication skills. You will be instrumental in introducing new food programs, conducting in-field training, and enabling customers to capitalize on foodservice growth opportunities.
The position demands an individual who can effectively combine product knowledge with business acumen to influence and educate clients. Duties include facilitating new food program implementations, assisting with menu development, managing inventory in partnership with purchasing, and organizing food and beverage demonstrations both on-site and off-site. The Sales Consultant Manager will participate in regular trade shows and sales meetings, collaborating with corporate teams to optimize product portfolios and gather valuable market feedback. Successful candidates will be adept at navigating foodservice sales data, understanding food safety standards such as HACCP, maintaining ServSafe certification, and advocating for Core-Mark’s strategic growth objectives.
Core-Mark fosters a culture where professional development and growth opportunities are abundant. Candidates with a foodservice background that includes experience in food brokerage, equipment sales, or a chef’s experience will find this role rewarding. The company supports continuous learning and values professionals who approach challenges with solutions-oriented thinking. This position offers the chance to be at the forefront of innovation in foodservice within the convenience retail channel, supporting one of North America’s leading food distribution systems and contributing to the success of both customers and the company’s brand portfolio.
