The Food Service Manager role at Aramark Student Nutrition is a vital management position focused on developing and implementing dining solutions that cater to customer preferences and requirements. In this role, the Food Service Manager is responsible for maintaining strong client relationships by understanding and addressing client needs while communicating operational progress clearly and consistently. Financial responsibilities include the preparation and maintenance of profit and loss statements, meeting financial targets for both clients and the company, and utilizing Aramark’s proprietary processes and performance metrics to optimize cost management and profitability. Managers also lead efforts to enhance operational productivity through stringent cost controls, labor management, and adherence to food production and quality standards.
Compliance and safety are paramount in this position. The Food Service Manager must ensure that all state and federal regulations are adhered to, including those related to health, safety, wage, and hour laws, while maintaining a safe, healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees alike. Collaborating with the Food Service Director, the manager will lead front-of-house dining operations for cafeterias or residential dining facilities, directing food service activities to deliver finished products that meet customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
- at least 1 year of management experience
- bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- strong interpersonal skills

- ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lb

- educate teams on key levers to improve margins
- bring value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management
- follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by meeting and maintaining food and labor initiatives
- ensure entire team is trained and able to implement
- supervise team regarding production, quality and control
- maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees
- follow all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour
- lead the front of the house of the dining operation (Cafeteria/ Residential Dining Facility) in conjunction with the Food Service Director
- plans, directs, and coordinates food service activities in order to deliver a finished product to the customer
