Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in food service management or supervisory roles
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to perform physical inspections of equipment and facilities
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Competence in staff training and education
- Adherence to all health and safety policies
- Commitment to teamwork and quality service delivery
Job Qualifications
- Experience in food service management or a related field
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs for senior and hospice care populations
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations including MSDS, infection control and sanitation standards
- Ability to conduct training and staff development
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility in working hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Monitor food quality and portion control to maintain high standards of nutrition and satisfaction among residents
- Oversee meal service to ensure residents receive timely and appropriate meals according to their individualized dietary plans
- Assist in assigning specific jobs and spot checking to ensure standards are met
- Ensure that all policies and procedures related to safety and health are followed, including but not limited to MSDS information, safe work practices, infection control and universal precautions
- Promote teamwork within the department and between departments to ensure smooth operations and quality service
- Assist in development, implementation and maintenance of written dining room service objectives and standards of practice with procedures for implementation
- Assist in assuring staff education is provided to dining room personnel in accordance with the staff education plan, plus provide the job training for dining room personnel
- Ensure that dining room service follows all local, federal and state regulations in relation to service, sanitation and personnel
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings, in-service training and tailored training courses
- Inspect multiple pantries and equipment to determine repair or maintenance needs and cleanliness
- Attend in-service training/meetings and ensure monthly education sessions through Relias are being completed on time as assigned
- Audit pantries' service offerings, initiating improvements with dietary manager
- Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager
