Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in food service management or supervisory roles
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to perform physical inspections of equipment and facilities
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Competence in staff training and education
  • Adherence to all health and safety policies
  • Commitment to teamwork and quality service delivery

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in food service management or a related field
  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs for senior and hospice care populations
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations including MSDS, infection control and sanitation standards
  • Ability to conduct training and staff development
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Flexibility in working hours including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Monitor food quality and portion control to maintain high standards of nutrition and satisfaction among residents
  • Oversee meal service to ensure residents receive timely and appropriate meals according to their individualized dietary plans
  • Assist in assigning specific jobs and spot checking to ensure standards are met
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures related to safety and health are followed, including but not limited to MSDS information, safe work practices, infection control and universal precautions
  • Promote teamwork within the department and between departments to ensure smooth operations and quality service
  • Assist in development, implementation and maintenance of written dining room service objectives and standards of practice with procedures for implementation
  • Assist in assuring staff education is provided to dining room personnel in accordance with the staff education plan, plus provide the job training for dining room personnel
  • Ensure that dining room service follows all local, federal and state regulations in relation to service, sanitation and personnel
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings, in-service training and tailored training courses
  • Inspect multiple pantries and equipment to determine repair or maintenance needs and cleanliness
  • Attend in-service training/meetings and ensure monthly education sessions through Relias are being completed on time as assigned
  • Audit pantries' service offerings, initiating improvements with dietary manager
  • Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager
