Job Duties

  • Monitor food quality and portion control to maintain high standards of nutrition and satisfaction among residents
  • Oversee meal service to ensure residents receive timely and appropriate meals according to their individualized dietary plans
  • Work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Assign specific jobs and perform spot checks to ensure standards are consistently met
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and health policies including MSDS information, safe work practices, infection control, and universal precautions
  • Promote teamwork within the department and across departments to ensure smooth operations and quality service
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining dining room service objectives and standards of practice
  • Provide staff education and job training for dining room personnel in line with the staff education plan
  • Ensure dining room service complies with all local, federal, and state regulations related to service, sanitation, and personnel
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings, in-service training, and tailored training courses
  • Inspect pantries and equipment regularly to determine maintenance or repair needs and ensure cleanliness
  • Attend in-service training and meetings and ensure timely completion of monthly education sessions through Relias
  • Audit pantry service offerings and initiate improvements in coordination with the dietary manager
  • Execute specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager
