Job Description
Aramark is a leading global provider of food services, facilities management, and uniform services, proudly serving millions of guests daily across 15 countries. Rooted in a strong culture of service and united by a clear purpose, Aramark strives to make a positive impact for its employees, partners, communities, and the planet. As a company, Aramark values equal employment opportunities and embraces diversity in all aspects of its operations. The organization is dedicated to professional growth, talent development, and empowering its workforce to reach their full potential, making it a desirable employer for those seeking meaningful careers in food service and hospitality industries.
The Food Service Manager position at Aramark is a critical management role responsible for overseeing and optimizing dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating all food service activities to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence. The Food Service Manager leads the front of the house operations in dining settings such as cafeterias and residential dining facilities, working closely with the Food Service Director to deliver high-quality food service experiences. This position requires strong leadership skills to engage team members using Aramark's coaching model, motivate employees through recognition and rewards, and ensure that team performance aligns with client expectations and organizational objectives.
Safety and sanitation are paramount in this role, with the Food Service Manager maintaining compliance with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations related to health, safety, wage, and hour laws. Financial acumen is essential, including managing profit and loss statements, meeting financial targets, and applying Aramark's operational processes and systems to improve margins. Productivity management is another key responsibility, requiring the Food Service Manager to enforce cost controls, efficient operations, and labor initiatives to maintain food quality and service standards.
In addition to operational responsibilities, this role demands excellent interpersonal skills and client relationship management to ensure effective communication and collaboration between clients, customers, and internal departments. The Food Service Manager also plays a hands-on role by supervising teams in food production, quality control, and service delivery. Physical requirements include the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. This is a dynamic position where job duties may evolve to meet business needs, making adaptability and a proactive mindset valuable traits for success.
