The Food Service Manager role at Aramark is a pivotal management position responsible for overseeing dining operations within environments where residents order prepared foods from a menu. As the Food Service Manager, you will lead teams using Aramark's coaching model to maximize employee engagement and potential, ensure high standards of safety and sanitation, and maintain excellent client relationships through clear communication and responsive service.

In this role, managing financial performance is key. The Food Service Manager is tasked with ensuring accurate completion and maintenance of profit and loss statements, achieving financial targets for both the client and company, and educating teams on metrics, ordering, and inventory trends to improve overall margins. Operational excellence is a core focus area, involving cost control, profit management, and adherence to labor and food initiatives to optimize productivity. Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing production quality, team training, and implementation of best practices.

Compliance with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, particularly those related to health, safety, wage, and hour laws, is essential to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, clients, and customers. Additionally, the Food Service Manager will collaborate closely with the Food Service Director to lead the front of the house dining operations, including cafeterias and residential dining facilities.

Job Requirements

  • Requires at least 1 year of experience
  • Requires at least 1 year of experience in a management role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's standard service model
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other departments to a unified food service experience for all customers
  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
