The Food Service Manager position at Aramark is a vital management role dedicated to developing and implementing dining solutions that meet customer needs and tastes. This role oversees and manages dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu, ensuring an efficient and enjoyable experience for all patrons. Reporting to the Food Service Director, the Food Service Manager will lead the front of the house in dining operations, including cafeteria and residential dining facilities. The manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating food service activities to deliver high-quality finished products to customers. This position requires strong leadership skills to engage and develop team members using Aramark’s coaching model, while also maintaining safety and sanitation standards throughout all operations.

A key aspect of the role is maintaining excellent client relationships by identifying client needs and communicating operational progress effectively. The Food Service Manager ensures financial performance by completing and maintaining profit and loss statements, delivering client and company financial targets, and adopting Aramark’s processes and systems. The manager will analyze performance metrics, data, and inventory trends to educate teams on key areas to improve margins and productivity. Furthermore, this role involves supervising the team regarding production quality and cost controls, and ensuring adherence to food and labor initiatives under the Operational Excellence fundamentals.

Compliance with all policies, rules, and regulations related to safety, health, wage, and hour requirements is a critical responsibility. The Food Service Manager must maintain a safe and healthy environment for customers, clients, and employees. This position may require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds, and the ability to stand for extended periods.

Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in food service management
  • Prior experience in a management role for at least 1 year
  • Preferred bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Ability to maintain a positive client and customer relationship
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service capabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
